And Click here if you want to request reviews on other VR titles.. This is a VR FPS game built for Virtual Reality. You embark on missions, where the aim is to kill robots whilst avoiding their oncoming bullets, avoiding bullets by dodging, ducking and even climbing. There are different control options including arm swinging or trackpad swipe movement. The game is well designed and along the way you meet more robots that look like friendly scientists, whom you can apparently shoot for extra points, despite the fact that they are friendly towards the player. The difficulty increases throughout the game, with the number of enemies increasing and the introduction of different robot types such as spiders and drones. You progress is automatically saved at checkpoints along the way, and there are also leader-boards which adds a competitive element to the game. This is a good FPS, but I think that improvements still need to be made for it to meet the standards of other similar FPS games that are available. This is understandable though as the game is still in early access. The improvements that I would suggest would be to add some music, improve the sound effects, to maybe offer a different movement option as although I found that the trackpad motion works well, it is still not my preferred method of motion as it can slow down the ability to reload your guns at times. The controls can also be a little tricky at times, for example when using the two handed gun and in the initial tutorial whereby you are required to climb. An initial backstory might also be nice to give the player a more solid understanding and motivation to complete their objective. Some interaction with the friendly scientist characters would also be cool. It could also add a co-op option and different difficulty levels to give the game more variety and replay value. The price point may be slightly high at this stage considering the improvements needed in the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DTGC8HPm8Q. Tried this game at E3, and I must say the mechanics of the game are great. "Not another wave shooter" is exactly what we've been waiting for to come on VR. The locomotion systems provided by the developers are spot on too. A wide variety of weapons to choose from, with very solid controls. The amount of gameplay available at this moment is definitely worth the buck. Given that Game Cooks is promising a slick update soon with more polishing and gameplay hours, I can't but recomend it to everyone with a VIVE right now (and soon occulus ) to try it out.. Overall the game is pretty polished.. The graphics look decent enough for VR, the guns handle fine although not big fan of the shotgun. I'm also not a fan of the arm swinger locomotion at all but luckily there is trackpad locomotion as an option. The levels try to throw some variety with a few climbing parts and ducking down to avoid fans and such. There is a decent variety in mobs although the humanoid type robots are a bit bland and to easy as they don't move and just shoot from a static point.I'ts not a wave shooter, it follows a story and you progress through levels so that aspect alone is good considering there are so few of them in VR. The price seems steep to me i'd think $20 would be the final price not $30... guess we will see maybe by launch it will be worth $30 since it's still EA... 2 Minute Video Review → https://youtu.be/wLfsy9ldWrQVindicta is a linear run and gun shooter, with a little bit of item hunting.Make your way through levels shooting a variety of robots while avoiding their fire. You start with simple pistols but will find more powerful guns as you go. You also have swords that you can always summon from behind your back. There’s the occasional mini goal like shooting down a reactor or finding a key, but it’s all really straighforward and easy to find. The default movement system is arm swinging, which added a lot of engagement for me and made it feel more exciting. But there’s sliding movement as well. For my fellow arachnophobes: There are mechanical spiders both large and small. But robot spiders don’t bother me for some reason, so I was able to keep playing. The simple action and overall feel reminded me of the old Quake games. And the cheesy macho voice from your character reminded me of Duke Nukem. It took me 30 minutes to beat the first level, out of 5 levels total. So there is significant gameplay here.I bought this for $1.50 during the summer sale. But the regular price is $15. If you go into this knowing that the gameplay is just simple frantic action, then I think you can have a good time. But don’t expect anything deep or mind blowing.. I've been playing this game for a long long time and it got me hooked. I Finished the entire game in about 12 hours, so the gameplay time is awesome for a VR shooter.Vindicta got a lot of potentials, and a lot to offer.Different kind of enemies as you progress and new weapons as well. The missions are pretty basic and straight forward to break the gunning monotony, it seems to work fine with me.Couple of things to fix that's for sure:1. Between checkpoints time is long, i'd suggest to add more in between.2. Couldn't nail all headshots (must be a bug or something).3. Some of the enemies shoot at you from nowhere, pretty hard to spot them.Overall Great experience, Thumbs up for the Devs.I hope they update with fixes and more content..Recommended.. I enjoyed playing this game a lot. It starts out pretty easy and gets harder by increasing the enemies and types of enemies as you progress through the levels. It involves climbing, running, shooting, crawling and all the things that make roomscale and tracked controllers fun. It also has onward style trackpad movement as well as arm swinger movement.Pros:FunFamily friendlyAccurate shooting guns1 hit kill head shotsPretty long campaign for an indie gameNice original graphicsFast paced actionThe climbing is really well done and a nice addition to an FPSCons:Still some bugs to be worked out (sound cuts in and out in busy scenes)I had some frame drops really deep into the gameSome checkpoints are too far apartno difficulty settingsNo multiplayer or coopno voice acting or story driven dialogueOverall I would recommend this game at the $20 it currently is at. I think if you have kids than its a no brainer. I hope some of the bugs can be worked out quickly.. Pros:- Progressing through the levels feels awesome. There is climbing, crouching, sneaking, sliding down ropes. Just from a pure platforming standpoint, this game was very enjoyable for a action shooter.- Arm Swing locomotion is amazing. I find arm swing to be the most immersive locomotion option. I find that with just pure trackpad it feels too gamey and doesn't require me to be an into as I would want with room scale. Arm swing really gets you into the game, it also has the added bonus of allowing for you to fine tune the speed you want to move. The only negative I had with the locomotion was that there seemed to be a pretty low speed cap meaning you aren't really allowed to really start moving super fast, for something that requires physical movement out of game I don't see why there has to be a cap that low. - The enemies are varied enough that I haven't gotten bored of fighting them yet. I do wish there was a little bit more types of enemy fire, for example if a enemy shot 2x as much, but every other shot was fired in a random spot near you, the room would start to feel a lot more dangerous. I found as long as you kept moving you could largely be as agressive as you wanted to be with little actual danger. It was kind of annoying that they would fire at you when you weren't in the room yet, but I did like that they fire at you even when you were out of line of sight, just becuase I think more bullets in the room helps it feel more perilous, even if they aren't actually fired directly at you. I also wish some of the enemy shots had more permanence in the world, I watch a big green glob hit a wall and then nothing was there, kind of takes away from the immersion of those enemies. - The varied amount of guns was pretty cool. All the guns felt appropriatly unique and had their own feel. The bullet trails make it really easy to get a hang of aiming, which just allows the player to feel cooler. When I had to make decisions about what guns to leave behind I would often be kind of stumped at what my worst gun was, which to me is awesome when I am choosing more for gun feel and not just power. Cons: - I'm not sure if trying to just get higher scores is a large enough draw for me to continue playing this game once I complete the story. While I really enjoyed playing this game, and I think it was 100% worth what I payed for it, I can't see myself playing it nearly as much as I play Sairento or Rec Room. I would love to see proceduraly generated levels to allow for unique playthroughs over and over again. Part of this is the lack of exploration in the currently levels, they are very strait forward in a way that it almost feels like it's on rails at some points. I would love to see more side paths / alternative paths / hidden secrets. All the guns are currently just kind of given to you as you walk through levels, I would love for there to be more hidden off the path things. (Unless there are and I just missed them all...then they are too well hidden becuase I never noticed anything). For an early access, this felt like a surprisingly complete game. I do think that the price is a little high for what it is right now, but it was still enjoyable and if it continues to recieve updates I could see this growing into that price easily. With some early access improvements this product could really shine.. Pleasantly surprised by this Early Access title! Swords, well implemented one and two-handed guns, hip reload, and projectile dodging goodness! Has touchpad locomotion, but I like the arm swinging in controller direction option best.
